Ofsted school description
This is a considerably larger than average primary school in an urban area of Waltham Forest. The proportion of pupils eligible for free school meals is slightly higher than average. A large proportion of pupils come from a range of ethnic minority groups and the large majority speak English as an additional language; over 30 languages are spoken. The largest group are from Pakistani backgrounds, with smaller proportions from Indian, African and Caribbean backgrounds; there are 15 different minority ethnic groups represented. While the number of pupils who have statements of learning difficulties and/or disabilities is below average, there is a higher proportion of pupils who have moderate learning difficulties and/or disabilities. The school has a number of awards, including The Healthy School Award, Sportsmark and the International School Foundation award.
The Early Years Foundation Stage includes the Nursery with morning and afternoon sessions, and three Reception classes, one of which was set up during this academic year. There is a breakfast club and an after school club, both run by the school.
